What is a floating seal?

Floating seals are simple products consisting of two components: a seal ring made of special cast iron and a rubber part (O-ring / gasket). When two identical seals are used, they form a pair. As the sliding component, the seal ring is supported by the rubber component, so it does not come into contact with the shaft and closely matches the radial and thrust motion of the shaft.

Floating Seals developed for slurry applications are made of very hard, abrasion resistant and corrosion resistant materials. Rubber parts press the sliding surface of the seal ring and also act as a seal. Therefore, it is made of a material that has a low temperature, very high heat resistance, and a compressive strength long enough to prolong the compressive life.
